I just polished this one off. It took two hour and a half plane rides and a few extra hours in the airport, but its done.

After Marvel Zombies we have (deep throat guy voice guy here) Marvel Zombies 2. Its been 40 years since the zombies have eaten everything on earth. We find the remaining zombies flying through the universe eating whatever they can find. Of course they can't eat each other. Too bad, Hulk does manage to smash a lesser character. The entire universe has been eaten. Decision to go back to earth and find Reed Richard's dimension machine. They will use the machine to transport to where the food might be. Spiderman is noticing that he's not hungry anymore. He wants to be a her again.
There are a few human outposts that survived. I'm not going into details, you'll have to read for that. Blank Panther is leading one such group. A rival tries to assassinate him. To save his life, he becomes a zombie. The planet eating zombies ( who got their power by eating the silver surfer and galactus) return and want to eat our survivors. A force field between the two groups saves the humans. Hulk, Spiderman, Black Panther, Luke Cage, and Hawkman (whats left of him). A big fight ensues. Zombies get smashed.

Review soon - just picked it up....

My dear wife surprised me with this 3 issue set. It has turned out to be one of the best series I've read in a while. Story is of 2 best friends living in the big city surrounded by zombies. They are survivors. When supplies are needed, they disguise themselves as zombies and wonder amongst the walking dead. The story os done very well. The trials and tribulations that 2 men living together is evident.
In book 2 they run into a young lady who's kind of crazy. She likes to go out and kill zombies. It's like a big rush for her. She meets the stars of our book. The three band up. The men now become competitive to get her attention (if you know what I mean). Silliness ensues. Feelings are hurt.
Book 3 lets our friends begin new journeys. Somewhat of a surprise ending. Well thinking about that last sentence, not really too surprising i guess. If you find this one, keep it. Read it a couple of times. It's a goodie.

Waiting for more issues to hit my market. Premise is good. The war in Iraq is still going on. A group of ex-soldiers, mercenaries, scientists, and who knows what else run a small business on a island. The business - hunting the ultimate game - man. Ok they hunt zombies same thing. A guide takes ultra rich in the forest for the hunt. Everyone receives a warning on how dangerous this really is. Every precaution is taken but nothing is 100%. Supposedly, the zombie virus can't infect our hunters. The story is strong and so is the artwork. I enjoyed this book. Can't wait to see what happens. Go out and buy this one.

Max Comics - November 2006 - 4 part mini series - story by Mike Raicht, art by Kyle Hotz, color by Dan Brown - Caution contains adult themes.
Part I The Getaway. We are introduced to a person named Simon Garth. Yes, that Simon Garth. He just happens to be one of my all time favorite zombie characters. He was first introduced in 1954? I think that's close. Back to the newer version of the story. Simon is a bank teller. The story opens with his boss dead on the floor. He's not having a good day. Summary; bank robbery, car chase, chemical spill, car crash, zombies. Simon volunters to be a hostage. Along with seceret crush Layla. He didn't want her to go. Ended up going with her. Is he a hero? That's yet to be determined. After the car wreck, Layla gets Simon out of the car. They see others who have been involved with the crash. They aren't doing very well. As they try to get away, the bank robbers catch up to them of course so do the zombies. Layla gets her throat ripped out - always happens that way. The three run off to a rest stop. The bank robbers are supposed to meet their henchmen there. They're dead. They go into the rest stop to hide. Find a couple of survivors. One is a military man. The other is a food stand worker - so we are to believe. Bad guys go into a walk in freezer for safe keeping. Good guys begin to plan for a get away. #2 - Back at the rest stop. We have a couple new characters introduced. A truck driver crashes into the rest stop and a doctor who is following his 'experiment'. The army guy is ill. We find out his story and how the crash happened and affected the countryside. Of course the zombies are closing in. Our friends are trying to find a move secure area. Will they get out? #3 - A paln is formed. Let two bad guys out of the freezer, break for a car in the lot. Oh yah, someone has to run to be live bait. As the discusses proceed, one bank robber is killed. The army guy is beginning to turn. The other bank robber has been bitten.

Dynamite Entertainment - 2007 - 4 part mini series - written by - Leah Moore and John Reppion, art by Hugo Petrus, covers by Arthur Suydam (75%) and Sean Phillips (25%). Suydam of Marvel Zombies fame.
Let's start by saying how great the artwork in this series is. The covers are amazing and there are a lot of them. Issue 1 has 5 covers itself. Covers a 'uncle sam' with a black/white incentive, and a negative incentive (one I don't have). Cover B is the zombie horde with an inhanced incentive cover.
Book 1 - Begins with a stand off in on a diner. Yes, a diner. The waitress is dead on the floor. A group of men barricading the door so the horde of zombies outside cant get in. All of the main characters fo the remaining books are introduced here. First flashback, the two little kids and thier story. Nothing says 'I love you' more then shooting your mom in the head with a .38 special. I see these kids having issues when they get older.
Book 2 - In a lab. Not just your everyday run of the mill lab. This one is creating a super postion. It begins with 2 lab techs taking csare of everyday business. Discarding experiments. For some reason no of the experiments lived. Odd. Jump back to the cafe. They main characters of the story are getting concerned about the safety of the cafe. They decide to make a run for a bus that is just outside. Of course, someone gets bit. She instructs the others to drive to a secret lab that haooens to be on the outskirts of town. There might be a cure there. The remaining panels are of the bus crashing through town. There are zombies everywhere. They run into a couple of people they think about saving. Always a minute too late. We do learn the story of the lab - and its demise.
Books 3/4 - Book 3 Survivors are in the lab. Everyone that happened to be in the building is now, or was, a zombie. Short dialogue on how the zombies came to be. More running from zombies. More people get eaten. The ending panel is one of the best ever. It shows the old, dead lab experiments rising form the dead. We will soon have zombie rats, mice, monkeys, and even bunnies. There is nothing scarier then a flesh crazied bunny. Book 4 begins with the undead lab animals munching on a few of our survivors. What more can we ask for. Elsewhere, all hell is breaking loose in the lab. Most of the living are now dead. We are down to the final 4, including the 2 kids. More carnage. Only 3 escape. As they drive away, the man asks the 2 kids how many bullets do we have? One is the response. I hope that's enough. Kind of a cliffhanger ending. It does leave itmopen for a second series. Rumor has it that this may happen as early as Summer of 08. Stayed tuned more info coming as I get it. This series is a must read. Everything about i strong. The artists, the writers, and of course Mr. Suydam doing cover art. It doesn't get much better then this. -D

Dark Horse Comics - 1997 - 1 of 3 mini series - by Mike Mignola and Pat McEown
Champion of the Worms is Azzul Gotha. He has returned after 40,000 years. He's angry and looking for a bride. The only thing stoppng Azzul is a team of four elite hunters. They are very good at killing zombies, mummies, and zombie mummies. This is a great series. It sets the stage of what we are going to expect in the Zombie World set. Not only is the artwork good, the story is sharp. This is one of the better stories Dark Horse has put out. A keeper in my book. Be sure to check it out.

Dark Horse Comics - 1998 - 1-2 mini series - By Stephen Blue - cover by - Stephen Blue
This is my favorite story of all six of the Zombie World Collection. Stephen Blue is one of the best zombie writers/artist on the planet. No, he's not paying me to write this. I don't know the guy - just enjoy his work. This series is his take on the Night of the Living Dead. Old friends meeting at a class reunion. A quick exit by one. Of course the car borrowed is a p.o.s. And yes, it does break down on a dark, back country road. A menber of the living dead stumbles onto the road. Literally a bump in the night. A farm, in middle of nowhere. Meeting the crazy old lady who owns this house and her 'artist' son. The story is set. This is a must read for any zombie fan.

Dark Horse Comics - 1998 - 1 of 4 - by Bob Fingerman and Tommy Lee Edwards
This is the most complex story of the Zombie World set. There are multiple character plots that begin to develope. The four main persons involved, met in a crowded New York subway. Not knowing that their paths are soon to cross again. Sub plot the subway system is being over run with rats. It gets so bad that the mayor ordered a mass extermination. This is were the fun begins. A kiloton of gas is used to kill the rats - and anything else in the subway. This ends book 1. Book 2 shows us the aftermath of the gas. The living dead start to show themselves. Book 3 - carnage. Book 4 shows us how complex this series is. No happy endings that we all hope for. The series is very busy, meaning each frame has a lot going on. A good read.

Dark Horse Comics - 1998 - By Kelley Jones, cover by - Kelley Jones
Story opens with a man in his mid-20's mopping a floor covered in blood. He tells us his story. His story is one of survival and renewed love. It just so happens that his love has been infected and is now a zombie. Their story is how he "provides" for her. We all should be as so blessed to have a relationship like this. A must read for anyone who has been in a relationship or thought of being in one. Best line in the book - "It doesn't taste like chicken".

Dark Horse Comics - 1999 - 1-4 mini series - By Pat Mills - 1 - 3 covers by - J Deadstock - cover 4 by Dave Stewart
The sourcer from Champion of the Worms returns. This time it just happens to be in London. Why do bad things always happen in London? The evil plan; to tunnel under London, call up the gods of hell, take over the world. Sounds good to me. The story is so-so. A couple of things saved this read for me. 1 - the artwork is good. very good. 2 - the Z.A.P.A. Zombie Anti-Personnel Accessary. The hero is over bearing. It is entertaining.
