Archives - 2009

This is it for 2009. Enjoy what happened according to the zombies.

12-9-09 - Wow the xmas season is upon us. IS that good or bad? Depends if you have been good or bad, zombie or fleshie. Bad for us here at ZP. Dec is the slowest month of zombie reporting. Zombie Jesus isn't around until spring. He's just a lil baby in December.

For the good news, DDP released a set of books titled The Zombies That Ate the World. It is better than that marvel thingy. My lovely wife found these for me. It's nice to have another set of eyes scanning the zombie scene. Grab em, read em, then do what ever you wish with them. Mine are going to Iraq. I have a brother there. The boys love the zombies in the desert.

So the desert. That reminds me of another story, the one of the spice trader crossing the desert. Having a lonely figure follow his ever move. I must save that for another day.

Zombie Jesus bless and out....

11-20-09 - So, I've been bugging my old contacts today to see who or what may be happening in the zombie world for the next few months. I did get a few nibbles. Nothing really to write home about. Here's a few items that came up.

Early 2010 - Revenge of the Bimbo Zombie Killers. Sounds fun. Is rumored to be a straight to dvd release. The Howard Zombie Massacre. No news is good news on that one. Legend of Zombie Road in 3D. This has a bit of a buzz about it. Why? No one really knows. Rumored to the art school project of a big time producer. From the early sounds of this one, should be another zombie school headed to the dvd rack near you. Finally, Zombie Family. Production is moving along. No one I talked too knew if it was going to be a sitcom or a feature film. Could go either way. I guess if they can get a distribution contract signed, it will hit the big screen early spring 2010. Keep your ears open.

11-19-09 - I've been searching high and low trying to find some grand zombie news. Apparently zombies take the month of November off. There is nothing worthwhile to report. That doesn't mean zombies aren't among us. They just hide better around Thanksgiving.

11-6-09 - Just returned from a nice week in Port Townsend, WA. Nice to gt away from all the hustle and bustle of real life. Spent the Halloween at a haunted hospital on a old army base. Fun had by all. If you submitted a flick, stay tuned. I watched a batch of zombie films. Some good, some not so much. All will be posted before weekend is over.

10-31-09- Happy Halloween!!!

This has been a very busy month here at the ZP. I've had many independent films show up at my door. I have watched all (finally). Reviews are going up this weekend.

10-15-09- Happy Birthday to my wonderful wife. I know, not zombie related - yet.

10-6-09- I've received many emails asking why I didn't report that the University of Florida has an official plan if (not when) zombies attack. If everyone already knows why would I report it? I heard this on my local news. As soon as I did, I felt sorry for the zombie nation. My local news isn't the greatest. Must have been a slow news night. I was waiting for the water skiing squirrel. He didn't show. Let's through on some zombies.

I have a couple of independent films sitting on my desk. They need to be watched and I have to write a review or two. This will be shortly. I have to apologize to Jim Townsend. I told him a review would be written a couple weeks ago. Sorry Jim, it will be done shortly. I just got news that Sundance is getting geared up for the next session. I'm trying to get my press creds. Any press is good press right? Go to zombieland. Just hate the production company.

If you anything to add let me know

10-3-09- Watched zombieland last night. It is as good as the trailers make it out to be.I went with my oldest son and his friend. All three of us were laughing our asses off through most of the show. Woody Harrelson does a great job. Maybe his best character yet. This is a must see in the theater.

The movie runs about an hour and half. Perfect for a zombie show. Lots of killing. The zombies are done well. The twinke parts are there and Bill Murray steals the show. I had a great time. I might even go a second time. Still hatin Sony. I have let them know.

10-2-09- I will be at zombieland tonight - the 950pm viewing. My son was kind enough to get tickets for me, him, and his buddy. This is the first time I've been to a sold out show in a while. More to follow.

Still hatin Sony.

10-1-09- Tomorrow the big zombie show of the year is to be released. Zombieland. As my loyal fans know, I have become a disdained fan of sony corp. Yes i know I have and enjoy the psp, the ps3, and maybe a few of their movies. This new found dislike of a cultural icon will not deter me in seeing the new movie. No thanks to them. I will get my ticket and laugh throughout the entire movie. I can't wait. More tomorrow.

9-27-09- Trying to get Columbia/Sony to send some swag. Everyone knows of the hype for zombieland. We even reported it here months ago. Just a few little items I can give to my friends who hit this site. But no. I'm not asking for anyone to boycott this flick, it's going to be a classic ( I hope). Just send sony a note. Let them knoe that they are tight asses.

9-22-09 - I know about a week late again. Shut it! I have a copy of zombie related items today. Both are sure to be making the rounds on the internet shortly.

First, the famed Walking Dead mag, comic, wth you want to call it, is making a run for network tv. Confirmed that they are looking for a network to pick up the best selling zombie rag and make it safe for t.v. Good luck to them. Earliest time frame would be end of October.

Second, Pocket Books may be trying to hit home run number two (number one - Pride and Prejudice and Zombies). Paul is Undead is their next project scheduled to be released June 2010. Story is about the Beatles, go figure. How they became the zombies you all grew to love. Will it work? Maybe. With the release of the new rock band Beatles the timing may be spot on.

9-18-09 - FINALLY. FINALLY. On Oct. 29, 2009 Night of the Creeps is being released on DVD. One of the most sought after films of all time. I didn't any details if there will be extra features or not. I would assume a few. Mark this date a hurray up and buy a copy or two. Send the extra copy to us here at zp. We can use it.

9-15-09 - Finally some good news out of Canada. Hold the gravy on the fries eh. George A Romero is submitting a film into the Toronto International Film Festival. Survival of the Dead. This film takes place right after Land of the Land. Rumored to be from the view of the zombie. Who are slowly learning how to exist. It does have all of the expected Romero style effects and politics. One we should watch out for this fall maybe early spring.

9-8-09 - I have returned. I hope everyone had a grand long weekend. I'm about ready to post the years in 2000. How can I do this you say? I will put up what I have. And fill in the rest as the time comes.

I have been trying to work with Sony on getting some swag for Zombieland. I am trying to get a few items that I can give away on this site. We shall see.

9-3-09 - Happy B-day to my mom. If she didn't bring me into this wild world of ours, who would you send all of the hate email too?

8-24-09 - The 1990's. A few of headed out into the great unknown. Life was fast food, beer, relationships that ended a few years later, and of course zombies.

This decade was the not the best for zombies. Many were out of work. Only the 1940's put out fewer zombie flicks. You may ask why? Well, I'll be happy to enlighten. It was Japan. Yep, the Japanese. Horror movies were the rage and a little industry was about to exploit it for all that it could. You may have guessed it. Its the video game industry. Remember bio-hazard? In the United States it is known as Resident Evil. Now it makes sense. Resident Evil is still on of the biggest money makers of all time. Now on with the show....

8-23-09- Finally getting the time to post a little more. The 90's hits us tomorrow. It's more like a little tap. Not much going on that decade. I blame the grunge bands.

8-19-09- Let's jump into the 80's. What do we remember? How about bad hair, bad clothes, bad t.v., and of course bad music. How do I know so much about this decade. This was my decade. I owned it. From the bad hair and bad music. To living out my teenage years to the fullest. As for my life experiences, I wouldn't/ couldn't change a thing. I learned the ways of life. 8-10-09 - Much thanks to Jim Townsend and his movie Attack of the Vegan Zombies.

If you see this, a review is in the works. I hope you get into all of the festivals you submit too.

Tomorrow the 80's. Yeah?

8-09-09 - Finished the 70's. I thought it was going to be easy. I need to stop thinking. I;m going to throw the 80s, 90s, 00's on. If I miss anything let me know. This is for my independent friends.

Independent producers, directors, actors, and/or whoever is in a zombie flick that needs advertising, reviews, anything that's not financial. contact me. This site will do all we can to help promote.

8-3-09 - The 70's. What do I remember? I remember this is the decade I was born in. I remember bad clothes, bad music, and Europe loves the zombie.

In 1970 , the zombie genre was just kicking off. Across the pond the Brits, French, and the Italians just began to gear up to mass produce, mass market low budget zombie shows. Thank god for that. Some great gems came out during this period. Can these compete with the powerhouse of the U.S. zombie market? In some markets for some films they killed it. Italian zombie shows ruled the roost. Let's kick this mess off ----

1970 - not a thing released - why? My birth year. The movie studios didn't want to compete with the constant party I call my life. Really.

1971 -  The big name here is; Let's Scare Jessica To Death, this has a huge cult following. It's more popular today than in '71'. Movie re-cap nervous breakdowns, scary cabins, and of course zombies.

The Snake People. See it or not.

Tombs of the Blind Dead - Spanish the first of many.

Psycomania - British. Bikers die come back to life.

A fun one from Mexico, Invasion of the Dead

Finally, A Virgin Among the Dead - this is German/French and not to good.

1972 - Blood of the Ghastly Horror - claim to fame is being one (if not) of the worst zombie shows ever made. One of my favs, it actually scared the crap out me when I was a small lad. Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things. An oldie but a goodie, hard to find. If you have a copy I can borrow let me know. Tales From the Crypt. The legend begins.

A few from across the pond. Neither the Sea nor the Sand. From the U.K. A love story. Heard of Zombie Honeymoon? This is were it began,

1973

Horror Express – U.K.
Horror Hospital – U.K.

8-1-09 - Holy Cow!! It's already August. I know I promised the 70's in a few days. They will be here on Monday. Somwtimes real life takes over and the days just fly by. Thanks for your support.

7-15-09- Happy 6th Anniversary!!! My lovely wife and I have been legally tied for 6 years now. What a crazy run. Thanks for everything.

I know, posts have been slow. Life has been more then weird as of late. I will have the 70's and 80's posted soon - very soon.

7-7-09- I know finally. The 60's are here. Hippies and the independent craze for zombies. What do I remember of them? Not much - thank goodness. The 60's brings flesh eating zombies to theaters everywhere.  This is the first time zombies are craving human flesh. Lucky for us, George Romero is starting his zombie career this decade.

1960 - two movies to note. The Cape Canaveral Monsters. Aliens trying to take over the U.S. space program. The aliens take over a car wreck victims body. Not good at all. A U.K. entry Doctor Blood's Coffin. Don't bother.

1961 - Two random entries hit us this year. From best to worst. The Curse of the Doll People. Made in Mexico for the Mexican audience. Made it way to the U.S. and is a cult classic. One of many for this era. Stars a few little people. It's ok. The Dead One. It's claim to fame is that it is the first zombie movie in color.

1962 - Three in 62. The best and its still very funny today is another Mexican zombie flick. Santo vs the Zombies. Santo is arguably the most famous wrestler in Mexico. He's bigger then Hulk Hogan. Everyone knows of Santo. He fights zombies and saves the day. Still being played in theaters worldwide. Tales of Terror - this is based on works Edgar Allen Poe. It stars Vincent Price. Just good ol zombie fun, serious and scary. Finally, Dr. Orloff's Monster. The only note worthy thing is that it was directed by Jess Franco. He did over 200 movies.

1963 - The Horror of Party Beach - partying teenagers and toxic sludge. Fun not really. Monstrosity aka The Atomic Brain. Both are horribly done. Neither are listed in over half of the film guides.

1964 - Was the busiest for zombies this decade. A total of four hit the masses with a vengeance. I Eat Your Skin started the madness. A spy zombie show. It has bad acting, bad dialogue, and its a bad show. War the Zombies, The Incredible Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed Up Zombies. This movie billed itself as the first monster film/musical. Supposedly funny, I found it long and boring. Finally, The Last Man on Earth. I like this one. Question if this is the beginning of I am Legend? Some say yea others nay. You decide.

1965 - The U.K. hits us in the mouth with The Earth Dies Screaming. An alien gas attack kills a majority of England. A U.S. pilot comes to saves the day. Not good. A couple more entries Terror Creatures From The Grave and Orgy of the Dead round out this year. Both are Spanish and not good.

1966 - Has two really good zombie shows. The Frozen Dead - frozen nazis, blood, and haven't we seen this again and again? The Plague of the Zombies. This is by Hammer Film Productions. They are known for having too much deep dialogue, tea, and tons, I mean tons, of really red blood. This movie plays a nice homage to White Zombie.

1967 - The Astro Zombies. You still ads for this one. And a good seller on ebay. Appartly not many people have seen it. It is not very good.

1968 - Finally the reason zombie films are still around. George A Romero gives us Night Of The Living Dead. What a way to end the decade. How many books, videos, screen plays have been made in this movies footsteps? I know I've seen many, many stories and documentary about this film alone. I remember in a my film study class learning of the first black man being a main character. The movie was about ghouls. Ghouls I say. The middle eastern variety. Look them up they are scary. What can I say that hasn't been written before? Thanks mr. Romero. You still haven't accepted my facebook friendship yet....

7-4-09 - Happy 4th of July

Happy Celebrating of Independence

6-24-09 - Tomorrow the 60's. God save us all and dirty hippies.

6-23-09 - As promised the 50's!

What do we know of the 50's? The U.S. has the atom bomb. Drive in theater is all the rage. And thankfully so if your an unemployed zombie. WW II is over and the economy is rocking. What more does a person need - radiation and cash.

In 1953 Scared Stiff was released. This is a remake of The Ghost Breakers. It stars Dean Martin, Jerry Lewis, and Lizabeth Scott. A strong cast, a weak movie. Way to much talking, singing, and over acting. Horribly done. Miss it if you can.

1955 brings us our first zombie that is created by using radiation. Creature With The Atom Brain. Highlights here are brain implants and mobsters. Not the best but it was at the drive in.

The busiest year had to be 1957. Three movies dropped the bomb here. Not funny, I know. I kind of tried. Quartermass 2 is the U.K.'s entry into zombies for the 50's. Aliens are coming to take over the earth. They are in a gas form and need human bodies to live. As they enter your body you become a zombie. Sounds like a recent Aussie flick. Supposedly a good movie for special effects. I didn't see it.  Next we have  Voodoo Island. Filmed in Hawaii that's supposed to be Haiti. It does try to get back to zombie basics - voodoo. It turns into a pro environment film. This is bad from beginning to end. And I love Hawaii. FInally in '57 we have Zombies of Mora Tau aka The Dead That Walk. Set in Africa. There are so many zombies just wandering around that the locals don't even notice them. If the zombies are in the road they just get run over. It's very funny. Story is silly. Stolen treasure (diamonds) has to be returned to the sea. Once this happens the zombies go away. OK easy enough.

The Thing That Couldn't Die hit us in 1958. A young girl psychic lets us know that everything around us is evil. This takes place on a farm, an evil farm. An old satanic practitioner was beheaded there. The head is found. He now wants his body back. He hypnotizes the farm hands to do his evil bidding. This show is stupid, stuoid, and more stupid.

Finally this decade ends. 1959 bring us a cult classic and a couple more really bad movies. Invisible Invaders is about aliens that want to take over the earth. They will do this by possessing the dead.  The aliens announce their intentions by PA system.  The US government makes a ray to kill them. Next we have Teenage Zombies. A group of teens go boating. They end up on an island that has a mad scientist (female). She invents a gas that turns the inhalers to zombies. Spies show up. No idea why. She turns a gorilla into a zombie. The first zombie gorilla ever! Boys fight spies, try to free girls, gorilla drinks cure, gorilla saves the day. My god.

Everyone's favorite and one of the best known zombie shows ever made. Plan 9 From Outer Space. This movie is rated as the worst movie of all time. I personally don't think so. Ed Wood is the man behind this. He was truly a visionary. Aliens, three zombies, yes three are here to take over the world. If you haven't seen this, go get it. It's worth a free rental somewhere. I pretty sure I've seen much worse.

6-16-09 - I did it! 5K of hell. The first mile went 4000 feet ended at 5700 feet. I didn't die so the last 2.1 wasn't too bad.

The 1940's. Depression, War and Zombies

The intro sums it up. Compared to the 30's not a lot happened in the 1940's in regards to zombie cinema. I will hit the high points and the lows. Mainly lows this decade.

Due to depression and war movie profits were down. Not only for zombies, but for everyone. Peoples were going to the movies to be cheered up, to get out of their pathetic lifes, and to watch the war reels. Oh the war reels. Government made shorts to show how good we (the US) were at war. The clients for movie houses were women and their children. The demand for horror was at an all time low.

Was this bad for the zombies. Yes it was. Zombie unemployment was at an all time high. The big production companies pulled out the zom genre altogether. 'Poverty Row' companies stepped up to do the dirty work the zombie needed so bad. These small, cheap, low budget, small time actor, did I say cheap? studios took it upon themselves to carry out the zombie story. Studios like Monogram, PRC, and Republic filled public houses everywhere - kind of. RKO was the only one to show any real profits. It was on I Walked With A Zombie in 1943. Let's not jump ahead.

in 1940 The Ghost Breakers starring Bob Hope hit the theaters. And yes, it was that Bob Hope. A zombie comedy. A zomcom before Shaun of the Dead. Weird. The show has many one line funnies throughout. It is mainly known for its political incorrectness. A first was the use of a full head prosthetic on the zombie. Still not a good show.

1941 brought us King of the Zombies. Two US heros (of what we don't know) crash in the Bahamas. Meet a Austrian doctor who has nazi ties and of course is mad. Like crazy not angry. This is pre WWII. So the story side steps any US  invilvement in the war. This movie has a small budget, smaller actors, and horrible make up. The zombies have black paint on their cheeks. And of course is very politically incorrect.

Bowery at Midnight (1942) stars Bela Lugosi. You might think he will save this. This is at the end of his career. Some wonder why he did this film - I'm one of them. He runs a soup kitchen talks with mobsters, criminals, and vagabonds. He gets these fine folks to do his dirty work. After wards he kills them. His assistant brings everyone back to life and keeps them in the cellar. Not many zombie scenes. Don't bother with this one. No one else has.

1943 was the good year. Three zombies shows released. I walked With A Zombie. The title was penned. The movie was shot around the title. Plantation owner has made his wife a zombie because of a love triangle. Voodoo is referenced a few times on how to make a zombie. This is a 'happy' almost love zombie story. Not much in the gore department if any. It does have a classic zombie ending. Not a bad one to watch. Next, The Mad Ghoul - murder and mutilations abound. I forget Egyptian poison gas makes zombies. You have to make them somehow. This is a hard show to find. I wouldn't look too hard for it if I was you. Finally, I know, Revenge of the Zombies aka the Corpse Vanished. Mad doc, of course, studies zombies. He's trying to make an army for the nazis with the undead. Way too much talking, not much action. No wonder they didn't get their zombie army.

1944 brought us Voodoo Man - Bela Lugosi, poor Bela. Mad doc trying to bring dead wife back. Bad Bela, bad. the few remaining, Zombies on Broadway (1945), The Face of Marble (1946), and Get Along Little Zombie (1946) were box office bombs. These movies were so bad that you can't even get copies. I can't wait for the 50's.

6-15-09 - The 40's will be here tomorrow. I'm gearing up to run a 5K tomorrow with my lovely wife. Stay tuned.

6-12-09 - Apparently the  30's was a hit. Thanks for the emails of support. I plan on putting up the 40's on Monday. All of you crazy Zomb's enjoy your weekend. And send more PBR. D

6-10-09 - As I wrote yesterday, Let's see where it all began.

First, I know I will get emails stating how wrong this may be, I'm not going to begin with the true origins of the Zombie. I don;t want to get into the Haitian slave trade. I don't want to deal with the religious aspect of Zombi. I don't want to be consumed by the early writings of the late 1890's or the travel and tell stories in the early 1900's. I'm focusing my little tribe on the zombie movie genre. Movies make use all happy, sad, scared, etc.. Maybe in the near future I'll throw the in depth writings of zombie on here. Until then enjoy some trivia about zombie films. You might have fun or even learn something.

The 1930's. Horror pictures were the rage. Dracula and Frankenstein sold out every night. Universal Pictures, RKO, Paramount, and Metro-Goldman-Mayer ran the movie industry. They made every kind of horror show possible from vampires, wolfmen, and mummies. For some reason they stayed clear of the zombie. Why? No one really knows. Zombies had been in books and stories for years. They were scary. Why no films? Money. As it is learned, the big studios looked at the zombie as a second class monster.

The Halperin brothers, a sibling director/producer pair, just happened to be a independent start the zombies needed. The Halperin's wrote a new type of horror classic based on writings of the zombies in Haiti. Their creation - White Zombie was released in 1932. It stars the great Bela Lagosi. White Zombie had a budget of $50,000. The brothers used sets from Universal. They redressed Dracula sets to save money. Mr. Lagosi was rumored to be paid $500 to $800 for his role. More rumors; Supposedly Lagosi set up many of the shots, helped directed the show. This show is know for the use of new camera angles not seen in production til then. Quick plot; Lagosi is a Haitian plantation owner. Any one who crosses him is turned into a zombie. A classic check it out. Over the years this show has made more than 8 million dollars.

In 1936 a couple of zombie shows hit the market. Revolt of the Zombies - this is the sequel to White Zombie. No Lagosi, it didn't do as well. It tanked.  A Cambodian Priest uses incense to turn people into zombies. wow. Also in 1936, The Walking Dead hit the scene. Gangster films became the rage. This is one about a zombie. This show is known for being the first time a bullet to the head of a zombie kills it. See you learned something.

1939 - Lagosi is back. He stars in The Man They Couldn't Hang. He has a rope burn on his neck the entire show. Not to bad of a show. Things like depression and the possiblity of war slowed down the making of zombie shows in the States. Can't wait for the 40's.

Quick trivia; 1933 the English try their hands into the zombie game. The Scotland Yard Mystery. A made scientist kills to get peeps insurance monies. Of course can't leave out the French. J'accuse; the story of WWI zombies. It actually becomes a war protest film. Bloody French.

6-9-09 - Sorry for the lack of posts in the last week. As with life, zombie information is feast or famine. After a plethora of news last week - my sources have dries this.

I also took a few days off to enjoy the company of my lovely wife. Time much needed and enjoyed. With our crazy schedules it's nice to stop and smell the flowers for once.

Starting tomorrow, I'm going to chronicle the beginnings of zombie moviedom. Beginning in the 30's were it is said that it all began. We can argue the point later. Wait for it. You may be entertained. As crazy as this sounds, you may learn a thing or two - so might I. Good night you freaks.

6/3/09 - Finally, after many long days your favorite site has an update. I have a poll to pass on to all. Food for thought maybe.

"In a recent poll (Sept 08) shows that most Americans are more afraid of zombie attacks than they are of terrorist bombing'.

That poll was taken from the book - Zombie Movies the Ultimate guide by Glenn Kay.

What does this mean? I can't get into political views. Maybe the war is being fought on the front. Do we need to defend our great country against the Dead Menace?  I just made that up, yet it is a great play of words referring back to the Red menace of years gone by.

In reality, zombies and politics don't make good bed fellas. Who knows what a politician will tell you? At least zombies won't lie to you or make false promises. They'll just eat your brains.

5/28/09 - After two solid weeks of zombie activity, not a single bite this week. In the U.S. we took a holiday Monday to honor all of our veterans. It seems that the zombie nation was aware and hide. That's good for us. I think.

Nothing really new on the flick front. Dead Snow is being released next week. It's a bloody good time.

5/22/09 - Houston, TX; Texas is known for many things. Some good, most not so good. Here;s a news story pulled right from the modern day headlines. Everyone in Texas knows of the dreaded fire ant. These little critters cause millions of dollars worth of damage every year. Not to mention they have a brutal bite. A new study shows that there is a wasp. A wasp that hunts these little ants. The wasp finds a fire ant, lays a egg on it, and flies away. As the egg hatches, the baby wasp burrows its way into the ant and slowly eats its way from the inside out. During this time, the any literally becomes a zombie. A zombie fire ant. Once the wasp is old enough it eats its way through the ants head and flies away. The zombie ant then dies a well lived zombie ant life. Life in Texas.

Everyone have a good weekend. It is Memorial Day on Monday here in the US. We get an extra day to remember our fallen. Stay safe and good zombie hunting.

5/19/09 - Coming October 2009 - Deader Country - Two teens skipping school happen upon a creature that is 1/2 man and 1/2 alien. Supposedly all zombie! Filmed in Australia of course this is an Australian film. Who else films aliens that are human that are zombies. All will probably be turned back human one way or another.

Deader Country is at the least going to be show in limited engagements throughout the US. At least zombies are still making a difference.

5/18/09 - Have you heard of an old actor by the name of Wesley Snipes? Around here we call him blade. Some may call him the I forgot to pay my taxes man. Neither topic matters. What does is his involvement in the zombie genre.

Rumor has it in mid 09 Mr Snipes palys a cursed gunman. Everyone he kills comes back as a zombie. He recruits a young warrior (yet to be named) to help him in his life or death struggle to slay these zombies for a final time. Gallow Walker is the working title. Will it be good? Who knows, but with Wesley killing everything it is sure to be bloody.

5/14/09- On of my interns, DEMON,  is 19 today.  HAPPY B-DAY you big lug. Send emails to demon@zombieparadox.com

More coming tomorrow. Stay tuned ad thanks for your support.

5/13/09- Personal note. I'm a home owner. I have 2 dogs. 2 Labs. About once a year a child of mine (yes, I'm a parent) will forget to close a door or a gate. Of course the dogs go out. This happened today. My family and I get home to a animal control truck and a deputy sheriff waiting for us in front of the homestead. Reason, my dumbass neighbor called 911. They didn't have the sense to call me. I was a an eating establishment 5 minutes away. All ended well. It;s just tough when your neighbors are idiots. D

5/12/09 - Zombieland - starring Bill Murray. Yes you heard it hear first. Mr Caddyshack himself starring in a zombie flick.  Does he really need work and/or money? Probably. Rumor has it way too many ex wives.

Storyline. He's the last man in earth during the zombie outbreak. The plot had better change or this may never make any money. I'm sure all will be fine once this hits the big screen. On the positive, at least it's a zombie show that may get some press.

5/11/09 - Street of the Dead. It's a 80 minute short from 2008. When good sandwiches go bad. A bad ham steak sandwich causes a zombie outbreak. It does sound horrible. It is low budget. It will be funny as hell. Have a few adult beverages and watch. Enjoy.

5/10/09 - Just a story of a girl. A 12 year old girl who loves the zombie genre. Loves it so much that she is making/has made her own zombie movie. "the girl has the vision, her mom has the drivers license".

tag - 'Together their growing journey is an en lighting look at the growing world of young movie makers and the bloodiest mother/daughter story you've ever seen.

I was at Sundance last year. I haven't seen it. Reviews I've seen aren't too bad.

5/8/09 - Attack of the Vegan Zombies. This is not a joke. Actual title of the movie. Quick plot summery; a organic vineyard isn't doing very well. One of the owners asks her mom, a witch, to cast a spell on the vineyard to make it grow. It works to record proportions. The owners hire local college students to harvest the crops. Nosy neighbors begin to show and disappear. That's all I have. Watch for it this summer.

5/1/09- May Day is here.

Zombie update. Silent Night, Zombie Night - to be released a week before xmas 2009. Synopsis; a virus breaks out in LA. A cop and his partner, who happen to love the same lady, are stuck inside an apartment complex surrounded by zombies. And did I mention with the said lady the both love? A weird love triangle in a zombie infested city. No word yet on the exact release time or how many movie house it will hit. Hopefully one around you. More info as it becomes avaiable.

4/23/09 - We are now on twitter!!! Our name is;  zombieparadox1. Some other wahoo grabbed my domain name before twitter was cool.

A few changes are happening on the site. Minor at first. Wholesale in a few. Enjoy and feed back is always welcome.

4/22/09 - I have just learned that the local government is planning to build a light rail stop on a 3,000 year old Indian burial site. Does this make any sense? I can't wait for the zombies to be riding the light rail and eating early morning commuters.

On a more serious note, this site is one of the most important historical collection of artifacts in the west. Why can't we build around? Local politics at their best here.

4/18/09- Two words - Woody Harrelson. That's right Woody F' ing Harrelson. He's starring in a new zombie film - Zombieland.

"In a world overrun by zombies, a guy described as "the most frightened person on Earth" looks to find refuge a band of people to safety."

Only tidbits of info on this one. A new zomcom. Emma Stone stars with ol Woody. Her character Wichita, could be a good one. Also Mila Kunis is rumored to be here. For those who don;t know her, she's the voice of Meg Griffin - Family Guy. That cute Abigail Breslen, Nim's Island, will be co starring.

Rumors have it that this could be a good flick. Watch for it early October. Press release is saying October 9, 2009. We'll just have to watch for it. Good luck Woody.

4/13/09- How do you talk religion without upsetting the masses? Most of my friends like a spirited conversation, whether it be about politics, beer, movies, or even religion. On that note; thanks to everyone who emailed me about the zombie jesus. Around Easter this topic is a big discussion. Most of it is very light hearted/tongue in cheek, funny business.

I wont get up on my soap box and preach about how much fun zombies are. Or how zombie jesus has brought so much joy into our lives.  For those of you who sent negative emails about the subject, grow up. This site and zombies in general are for fun. If zombies really did decide to try to take over the world, then we might have to rethink things.

4-7-09- A quick update. Marvel comics has decided, against everyone's better judgment, to release Marvel Zombies 4. Why must they (marvel) take a good product and run it into the ground? This product has had its run. Let it die. Please let it die a painless death.

As always send hate mail to me -

4-6-09- A quarter of the year has passed. A couple nights ago, I went to a Blue October show with two of my favorite people (Eriki thanks for the beers). As we were people watching between sets, he pointed out a zombie in the crowd. Sitting across the room from us was a lady. A lady who was colored gray, sunken eyes - which were blackened, and she was very slow moving. I wish I had my camera on me. The first real zombie siting I've had. It was scary.

Many thanks to eriki again, he has set me up to watch many Japanese zombie flicks. The three in my possession now are crazy. Leave it to the Japanese to add the crazy to movies. I will admit they are fun. More on that to follow.

3-31-09- This is it. It, I mean for the first quarter of the year. Time flies when you are having fun.

Finally an update of sorts. PS3 has released a game from the playstation network - burn zombie burn. A third person shooter. Goal to kill as many zombies as possible by any means. I haven't played it yet. As soon as I can I will and report on the actual game play.

Today was the release date for Horrorfest III. Eight new movies to scare. I haven't seen any of these yet due to no screenings in my local area - thanks horrorfest. I'll be picking up a few a week for the next few weeks. Stay tuned for  review near you. Any questons/comments as always email at dino@zombieparadox.com

3-20-09- I hope everyone had a chance to get the update on Mr Romero yesterday. I just found out he was a writer for the remake of the 70's horror flick The Crazies. Does this really need to be remade? Some must wonder. The original wasn't that good. Email me now, everyone knows it wasn't that good. Only time will tell how this turns out. It is set to be released later this year.

3-19-09- Back finally. I know. The real world has pulled me into the abyss.  Actually, the holiday of ST. Paddy's got in the way. That darned Guinness demanded to be opened. Now I'm hitting back with a vengeance. What the hell does  that mean? All I know is that the weekend is almost here. Let's get back on track.

The rumors of a new Romero show is just that. Nothing new. He is releasing a series for TV called Deadtime Stories. Deadtime stories is a series of 17 shorts that  are supposed to scare you. Seems something like what Creepshow was in the 80's. If you haven't seen Creepshow or Creepshow 2 find them, watch them, and enjoy. Deadtime Stories will be out on DVD April 1, 2009. Deadtime Stories 2 is in post production and I haven't found much info on this set yet.

3-11--09- I know over a week nothing new. So what the hell? Just have a rumor. George Romero, yes that one, is releasing a new zombie show this summer. The word on the street is it is very cutting edge. I'm pulling a few favors to get more info. I'll get back to everyone in a day or two. As always stay zombie. That's gay....

3-2-09 - My good friends at a large monthly publication just sent me a really cool email. No naming until they show a little love. You know what I mean. What I'm getting to is a cell phone game. A game played on your phone. Zombie Infection....you can play it anywhere. I mean anywhere - even on the can.  Just think zombie killin in your pocket. Someone play let me know how it goes. I have a hard time finding the pacman preload on my LG.

As for the zombie front, not much movement. Things are quite this week. Will be until that big movie hits Friday.

2-24-09-  Holy Cow, It's been a week of nothingness. My deepest apologies. I had to go out and get a real job. No more staying in my office and updating website all day. As soon as I get a few sponsors for this little site, things will change for the better.

My take on the new Friday the 13th - It's fun. Bloody and boobie as it should be. Jason is actually scary. He hunts in the day for the 1st time and he runs. Runs quite fast for a big guy. Go see it.

More fun to be added soon. Stay tuned....

2-13-09- Finally it's here! The 13th of Friday. Off to the movie house. Report on one of my favorite series coming soon.

2-11-09- Just one short day away form the new and improved Friday the 13th. Midnight showing? Not in my neighborhood. I guess I'll have to wait until Friday afternoon. Dang..

2-5-09 - my oh my.

Storyline - Collinsville, ILL (east of ST Louis) on the southbound lanes of I-255, there are construction signs. Not your regular signs stating me working - yea right. These are the big flashy signs that usually say traffic ahead maybe men working lol. Supposedly, pranksters are breaking into these signs and making funnies. The latest - dialy road closures due to zombies. This is just awesome. Come on IL DOT, have a sense of humor.

I was quietly involved in a discussion today about cannibalism. How come when people eat other people its cannibalism, bt when a zombie eats another it's not? I just added zombies are dead (not real humans anymore) they need fresh flesh to make the pain go away. There's a lot more to this, I'm going to leave it at that. Of course you can email me and argue your side. Of course I'm right.

2-2-09 - Today happens to be my favorite holiday. The GHD - Ground Hogs Day - I plan on roasting up a nice sized 'hog' for the family and telling stories about our favorite little creature.

Today I picked up Dance of the Dead. Will it be good, probably not. A prom, the living dead attack, what happens next? I don't know. I'll let everyone in on this one tomorrow. Happy hunting - oh I have a story about that. Just wait people are that crazy.

1-26-09- Today is MEV's 16th birthday. Happy Birthday little lady. No zombies coming to this party. Some might think they are. Just dumb teenagers -  makes it hard to tell now a days.

Not much new on the Zombie front. In a couple weeks the remake of Friday the 13th hits theaters. Let the discussion begin, is he a zombie or not? This has been talked about for how many years. Go see it, talk about it, remember one thing Jason kicked Freddy's ass.......

1-21-09 - Finally. The movie section has a few updates in it. My current host won't let me add to my movie page. My temporary fix is there will be a movies 2 page. All of these will be combined in a nice database shortly. There has been so much to do and so little time.

1-19-09 - Happy MLK day. For those of you still working, enjoy the time I have off to spend with my loved ones.

I was doing a little research on Zombie Walk. This event took place worldwide. They all get dressed as zombies and run wild through their home towns streets. I found 18 U.S. cities involved, 9 Canadian, and 11 on other continents. I have pics form my home town in the real life section. Other cities soon to follow.

Sundance hasn't been up to snuff this year. Maybe troma's party tomorrow will make things better. What happened to all of the celebs this year? Could it be that Sundance is going ack to were it began? Truly independent that would be nice.

1-11-2009 - Back in the swing of things again. Controlled chaos is the new name of the game. A few new faces will start making debuts here. Will have a lot info on movies and games. In the near future, an ebook about zombies will be ready to go.

I live in an area that supports the Sundance Film Festival. You may have heard of it. This year there is at least one show I'm obligated to see. It's from Norway. Dead Snow. It's about Nazi Zombies. Movie takes place in modern times. Supposed about a little town that fought the nazi's during WW2. The force the bad guys out into the glacial snow. Guess what? A group of partying college kids on winter break awakens the zombies. I'm sure blood shed ensues. Can't wait to see ot on the big screen.

A zombie forum is still being built. As soon as its done and tested, it will be accessible for all of you zombie fans. I can't wait.

1-1-2009 - HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

I hope everyone has a prosperous year. It can't be any worse than 2008. Thanks for all the fans out there. This is the #1 zombie site on yahoo. With a little more work we will take over the www.
