Paradox: Latin \'per-a-daks'\;                     A statement that is seemingly contradictory or opposed to common sense. And Yet, most importantly, perhaps true.

Zombie Paradox is here to show that what we've been taught, what we believe, just  may not be completely true.  So lets have a little fun.

What To Expect

Zombie Paradox is soon to be the best Zombie site on the web!

It will cover movies, books, mags, toys, actual zombie stories, anything and everything that has to deal with the undead or as we say - zombies. This site is dedicated 100% to the zombie craze. We won't be side tracked by any other horror genre.

This site will be updated multiple times a week. If anything relating to zombie news happens, we will be the first to report it.

7-31-2010- HAPPY B-DAY TAY.

7-30-2010- Sometimes we make decisions that effect our lives and the lives around us. Some of these may be positive and others not so much. Some of the negative actions my cause a ripple in life and make positive changes in the future. Let's hope for that. I have learned, in my own life,  that the actions caused by a few have will effect the many.

I watched a negative event turn into a calling for help. I have watched the many turn and drop everything to help the few. It has been an amazing process. I believe in the human race once again.

I still have a disappointing view on some of our laws and the way the are written. Sometimes the ones that are supposed to be protected really aren't.

A serious post for a serious week. My friends thanks for the support. If you want to chat hit me up; dino@zombieparadox.com

7 -23 -2010- Official news bullet. Brad Pitt, yes the Brad Pitt of Fightclub fame, is going to be the lead in the movie version of Max Brooks book; World War Z. Pitt's producton company Plan B won the bid for the books' screen play. Marc Foster is gong to direct. He is known for directing the Quantam of Solice. Right now the movie is scheduled for a summer of 2012.

Us at ZP are very happy with this news. It should be a good shoot em up, blow em up time. Congrats to Mr. Brooks. It's nice to have the zombie genre back in the headlines.

Zombie fans have a splendid weekend. I have about 15 old school flicks to watch. Added that just to make you fans jealous.

7-22-2010 - Howdy ZP fans. I know it has been a few days since the last update. The weird thing is, no zombie outbreaks yet. I've seen a few of them at my place of employment. Weird I know that I can't run this site without a real job or at least a semi real job. If I could take pics and post them you would see how horrible the zoms I work with are.

I have been listening, yes listening to a few books of the zombie. I know, I know, this is all about movies and fun stuff. Holy crap! There are a few great zombie writers out there. I've contacted a few. When they respond, I will put a few excerpts on here. TIl then - aim for the head.

7-10-2010 - This is why we love writing about zombies. Where else in the world could this happen? Read this story from KGW news in Portland - All I can say is AWESOME!!!

by Justin Burton, KGW news staff

PORTLAND, Ore. -- A car full of people dressed as zombies crashed on Interstate 84 near downtown Portland on Friday, causing initial confusion by people who witnessed the crash.

Portland Police said the car was swerving in the eastbound lanes of the freeway just east of the Lloyd District just after 9:30 p.m. when it rolled over and crashed onto its top.  Emergency crews took five victims from the crash to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said that in their investigation they learned that the people inside the car were dressed as zombie costumes and they were headed to a party at the time of the crash.  Sgt. Greg Stewart said people who witnessed the crash initially thought the victims' injuries were much more serious, because of the zombie costumes.

"We're glad that everyone is alive, despite being 'undead'," Sgt. Stewart said, referring to the costumes.

While everyone in the car was taken to the hospital, Stewart said crews are investigating the possibility that more people were in the car at the time of the crash but fled the scene on foot.

The crash halted traffic in the eastbound lanes for about an hour, reducing travel to just one lane.  All eastbound lanes were opened at around 11 p.m.

7-7-2010 - One week into July. Holy crap it's HOT!!! So hot that even the zombies aren't wondering far from shade. I just heard that the first 6 episodes of The Walking Dead are near completion. Yep, I said 6. Rumors tell me that only six are being produced now. If they do well, another six will made this fall. Well at least we will get six really good episodes. That if we watch will turn into 12 or 13 kick ass zombies shorts. Please support this. The zombie genre needs all the help it can get right now.

7-4-2010 - Happy Independence Day!!! No new zombie happenings today. All the zombies know not to come out of hiding on this day. Way to many things that can blow you up being lit today. Everyone be safe.

6-29-2010 - The year is almost half over. The zombies haven't taken over just yet. It's nice to know with everything that's going on on the world, the zombie menace hasn't made any moves on the populous of our great world.

At least a piece of news that most will find useful. Remember a few weeks, months, years ago when ZP first reported Resident Evil is launching the last of the four again?

Resident Evil: Afterlife will be in theaters near you on Sept 10. It will be in 3D (of course), 2D, Imax, and any other format they can make money on. I must admit, I wasn't a fan of these for a long time. I never followed the video game series. My dear brother, god speed, gave me the dvds. I watched. Now I like. The tv is a very dangerous thing. Be careful out. As always, aim for the head.

6-22-2010 - Have you ever wondered were the term zombie came from? Don't feel alone. Many zombie loving freaks have thought the same thing. In the next few days I will post a bunch of trivial facts about zombie folklore. There is so much information to compile. I have most of it on my hard drive. I'm just a lazy ass and and haven't looked it up in a while. One interesting fact is that almost every country in the world has a word for zombie. Why would all of these societies have a word if it wasn't real? Language is a fairly simple thing, see it, name it. Think about it. More to follow soon.

6-14-2010 - The zombie world is very slow right now. Home video release is taking a down turn this month. Major movie producers are focusing on super heroes. They really should look at SImon Garth. Look him up if you don't know the name.

On a more important note, last night I listened to a discussion about Mr. George A Romero. The discussion was on his directing/writing demise. His early works were scary, gory, and politically charged. His most resent films not so much. Is this due to his age, is he he changing under the new political climate, or is he just tired? I'm not one to just the man that defined the zombie genre. Maybe it's time to let the zombie's ride off into the sunset.

On a more interesting note; Romero's latest flick has zombies eating animals. This is a first in zombie film making. It debunks the theory of zombies only eating humans. Can they be evolving? Did Mr. Romero just start a new beginning in the zombie saga? Am I looking into this way too deep? Maybe, one can only hope.

Good day and as always aim for the head...

6-3-2010 - Heading out to the Lake of the Bear this weekend. Need some down time and a few minutes with the wife. It will be tons of fun. Maybe we will see the "monster". Can only hope for as much. Everyone stay safe. Remember, aim for the head.

5-31-2010 - Today is Memorial Day. We need to take a minute and remember those who have given up their lives for us.

These observations mean more to me and my family today. I have a brother, weird I know, who is stationed in Iraq. I think he's hunting zombies. He tells me different - sometimes. Let everyone you know, or don't know, how proud you are of them.

5-27-2010 - I know, ten days for a new post. Let me tell you May is the slowest month of the year for zombie news. Meaning when the uprising begins let's all hope it's in May.

Check this out;

Timeline May 26; Those crazy Japanese. They have made this -

what is it? Glad you asked. It's zombie meat. Blue/gray in colored peppered beef jerky. Find some and enjoy.

5-17-2010 - First, let me say I know I haven't updated in a few days. Well I'm back on track.

Second, I didn't wish any of the mothers out there  happy mom's day. I apologize. If your a mom, know a mom, have had a mom, want to be a mom, have the hots for mom's (ericki you know who you are), or find anything motherly, happy belated day to you.

Third, happy belated birthday to Demon. My oldest of 20 years now. Yes I am old. I find myself forgetting things - sometimes on purpose sometimes not.

Finally, I read an article about tanks vs rv's during the zombie outbreak. Both have pro's and con's. More pro's. Tanks do lots of damage are almost indestructible. Problem use lots of gas and maintenance is huge.  RV's store lots of stuff are maneuverable, and are a very good command post. Long story short (and yes, it was a long story) use a tank for defense. Use the RV for everything else. You can take a shower in an RV, not so much in a tank.

5-5-2010 - Just heard of a little independent film titled Platoon of the Dead. Looks like it was filmed on location - in someones back yard. If anyone has a little more info, sent it. I'm being a lazy ass today and don't want to look thins up. So if you worked on the film, wrote, directed, catered, give us a jingle. ZP would love to give it a quick look.

5-1-2010 - HOLY CRAP!!! BREAKING NEWS!!! Survival of the Dead is going to be in select theaters MAY 28!!!

This is George A Romeros sixth zombie show and it follow Diary of the Dead. I know that last week this movie was released in Britain. Darn Brits. Enjoy the release in theaters. I will. Join me, buy me a drink, I will appreciate it. More....

SYNOPSIS

Immediately following the events of "Diary of the Dead," "Survival of the Dead," is the 6th film from George A. Romero to look at a world where humans are in the minority and the zombies rule. Off the coast of Delaware sits the cozy Plum Island where two families are locked in a struggle for power, as it has been for generations. The O'Flynn's, headed by patriarch Patrick O'Flynn (Kenneth Welsh) approach the zombie plague with a shoot-to-kill attitude. The Muldoons, headedby Shamus Muldoon (Richard Fitzpatrick), feel that the zombies should be quarantined and kept 'alive,' in hopes that a solution will someday be found. The O'Flynn's, who are clearly outnumbered, are forced to exile Patrick by boat to the mainland, where he meets up with a cynical band of soldiers, headed by Guardsman Sarge (Alan Van Sprang). They join forces and return to the island, to find that the zombie plague has fully gripped the divided community, and the body count is rising. As the battle between humans and zombies escalates, the master filmmaker continues to reinvent the modern horror genre with wicked humor and pointed social commentary.

4-26-2010 - Breaking news - What was voted the best zombie fighting weapon? Public opinion is the shotgun. That is wrong. A .22 rifle has been voted top zombie weapon. Some of the factoring criteria; size, weight, availability of ammunition, how loud it is, accuracy, and range. Once all of this was looked at a .22 is a good choice. Shotguns are loud, heavy, and ammo can very.

My choice (my voted choice) was the machete. The down fall was that to use you had to be very close to the subject. Was voted a the number one secondary weapon.

Speaking of killing zombies with a shotgun, rumor has it that the military has a new munition. Again rumor, the new ammo is a small missile that can be fired from a auto shotgun. It can find a select target or explode and render a group useless. Believe it or not?

4-19-2010- Let me qualify this post. I run this site from a macbook, use said macbook for all my everyday needs, and love my mac. I am not paid or sponsered by apple in any way (if they would send me a new macbook pro I would love them forever and ever).

Hundreds of new apps for the iphone and ipod touch featuring zombies have popped up in the last few weeks. Most begin around $0.99. Try them they're fun. Let apple know we sent you.

4-10-2010 - Our friends per say at hulu.com are having zombiefest. They have quite a few old, semi-good zombie films playing on that site. The best part; they are free. That's right boys and girls, free. How bad can a zombie shoe be if it's free. I've see a few for $0.99. That price was way too much. As we always say here 'if it's free it can't be all bad.' Check it out.

4-4-2010- HAPPY JESUS ZOMBIE DAY!!! I know I may be a tad late in the post, I had a busy morning.Had to find eggs (the ones the zombies hate get dressed, turn on the mac, you know the stuff that gets done. I hope everyone is enjoying their 1st official religious zombie holiday of the year.

From my family to yours - keep everyone safe and aim for the head.

Happy Zombie Day to all and to all a good night....

4-2-2010 - As a few may have noticed, yesterday was the great April's fool day. I played the fool. To my knowledge, the site is not shutting down.

Over the last couple of weeks, I have picked up many out of print zombie flicks from a local video store that has closed its doors. If you want them, they are on that one bay site. No shameless promotions here. Hurry get them while they are cheap...

4-1-2010 - After great debate and deep thought, I have decided that the time has come to pass the torch on the great ZP.

I have  held onto this site for the last 2+ years, made a few really good friends, watched a shit ton of good and not so good zombie films. Watched this site grow from nothing to the number 1 site on yahoo and now the number 3 on msn. With deepest regret, I will shut her down.

Many thanks to everyone who has supported me in the various ways you do. Thanks to family and friends. Thanks to Jess for paying the service bill as they roll in every quarter (and thanks for being the wife of such a crazy zombie film fiend). Thanks to Eric for supporting a throwing ideas into my head when mine is drained. I will miss everything about keeping up the site. Except the enormous time that it takes. Thanks again - ZP out.....

3-29-2010 - Just a few short days away from the glorious egg hunting day. The site is a buzz with Jesus Zombie talk. The email is going crazy, the full moon is full, and the site is getting a few updates.

I have finally loaded a few of the hundreds of zombie walk photos I have received. Check the real-life section. Nothing says Easter like a good old fashioned zombie walk.

I have also run across many out of print zombie flicks (reviews to be posted shortly - by shortly I mean eventually). A local video store is closing its door, my gain.

3-25-2010 - Just over a week away from Easter. Or as we say here - Zombie Jesus Day. It's not at all sacrilegious, any that has died and comes back is technically a zombie. If your reading this you already agree - no explanation needed.

Have you ever wondered why we boil eggs for Easter? Everyone knows that zombies hate eggs!!!

3-24-2010 - For all who haven't heard, George A Romero's -  Survival of the Dead was released in the U.K. today. As of this posting there isn't a release date for us in the U.S. Some may ask why?

He showcased this film at a well know horror convection last fall. For some odd reason no one would pick up this film and throw it into wide theatrical release. It may seem that the U.S. is being punished for the actions by a few. I know many that would like to see this. I wasn't lucky enough to be one of the select few who did.

3-16-10 - Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. Have you heard of it. Of course you have. The book has been a best seller for months. Now the movie is set to begin filming. Natalie Portman is starring and producing. This is her producing debut. How will she handle the jump into the zombie genre? No one knows. Everything I have seen and heard tells me it will be really good or really bad. No kidding. I wish I could get paid too write crap without taking sides. In my opinion, it will be ok. As all fans of the zombie show know, some movies are really good. Most are really bad. Yet we still watch and enjoy all.

3-15-2010 - I had to take a few days off. Had a nice road trip to the Oregon coast. Splendid little trip. Now back to reality. Things here at the ZP  have had a sudden change to the negative. I'm in the process of reevaluating life in general. Will this effect the site? It could. I have to decide if I want to keep the expense, time consumption, and rigors of this little site. Not only this one but the other I have in my world. Times are changing.

I will let you know once the final decision is made. I have enjoyed being the forerunner of zombie news. I have made some good friends. Check back, as with everything else in life, it all changes. Some for the good some for the bad.

3-4-10- Nothing new to report on the zombie front. I did learn of a local gentleman who is conducting zombie survival courses. He teaches them once a month. He is serious, no games are being played at his warehouse. He's one scary dude.

On a sadder note, I just received some life shattering news. Have you ever been hit by something, completely blinded, that just knocks the wind from you? I just had that happen to me. Didn't see it coming. I'm usually one for open mindedness, guess my mind isn't so open. Just makes for a very hard, sad day at the ol' ZP.  As always if any comments, concerns, and/or any other shit you want to throw my way just contact me. Out - D

3-3-10- Jim Townsend, friend of ZP, producer, writer, actor, and founder of zombiefilms llc, has released his independent zombie film Attack of the Vegan Zombies!!! It is now on amazon.com. Go find it and buy, buy, buy. Support your independent zombie filmmakers. If you don't what will happen to this genre? Honestly, buy it. It's a good zombie show with a new twist.

3-2-10- We are now officially entering the busy season for zombie watch. The 40 day count down til the zombie jesus rises is on. I guess it's the anniversary of the rising we celebrate. Have you ever wondered why we boil eggs and hide them on Easter? Every one knows that zombies hate eggs. Weird I know.

3-1-10 - The Ides of March are upon us. Sorry for no posts in the last few days. The dreaded gomboo has hit the ZP office. Nothing like a few days of down time. That bug kicked me as I was down and kicked me, and kicked me. Much better now.

2-18-10- Have you heard of the Left for Dead Blog? If not it's ok. According to that blog, the entire population of earth has been zombiefied and killed 4.26 times. That's a lot of people playing that game and that's a lot of zombie killing.

Myself, well I have only accounted for 5,342 zombie deaths. Maybe this weekend I can improve on that number.

2-17-10- Everyone has heard of Dead Rising. You know the video game from capcom. Is in the filming process. Meaning it will be in theaters soon. Capcom has given the ok to produce, shoot, or whatever it is that they do. Will the movie be about the main character in the game? No one knows. Japanese trailers are all over the webs. Zombrex s a new treatment for zombies. BUt does it really work?

Also, Dead Rising 2 is almost ready to hit store shelves. A few more bugs to work out and it will be rocking.

2-16-10- Marvel is in process of putting out Marvel Zombies 5 (MZ5). Come on Marvel. I know it's a cash-cow for you. Stop. Just stop it. Marvel is bring in characters that haven't been seen since my birth. It is time to stop. How about let your artists do what they are good at and drawn a new book of zombies. Something new and fresh. Is that asking to much?

The Walking Dead, the most well known zombie saga, has been given the green light to become a television pilot. AMC is going to host this many, many book zombie story. I'm not too familiar with their work. I hear they will do a better job then scifi. Is that being to edgy?

2-15-10- It has been a few days, er weeks since I have sat down and made an important contribution to this site. I would like to blame Sundance Film Festival for this. Yet I can't. There were no zombie movies entered this year. At least last year, we had Dead Snow. Which is going to be released in the States on Feb 23. Watch for it. Some may call it a remake, some not. After so many years of zombie flicks how do you stay 100% original?

2-14-10- Happy VD. It is St. Valentine's day today. Wish all well.

2-4-10- Happy Birthday George A Romero!!! with out your work where would our zombie story lore be today?

2-2-10- Zombieland is being released today. Buy it - that is all. Still hate Sony....

1-13-10- Heard from Devils Crossing, release in April 2010. Limit screening posted. Hopefully it gets to the larger markets this summer. We will wait and see.

1-12-10 - Update I mentioned Devils crossroads. It's officially - Devil's Crossing. From their site and I quote "Devil's Crossing is an independently funded horror film shooting just outside of Charlotte, NC. Written & directed by Ryan Gary and produced by Paul Streiner, Devil's Crossing features an explosion of gore as the western and zombie genres collide. Devil's Crossing is an adult film." Adult meaning too violent. I put in a note to the director to get more info. Waiting to see if it will be a classic. Sounds like a little gory, head shot fest.

1-10-10 - Just had to write on this day. What's happening on the zombie front? Not a lot as of right now. A new independent show is being filmed in North Carolina. Devil's Crossroads is the working title. How good will it be? I will let you know as soon as I get a little more info.

1-5-10 - The Archives have been updated. Anything you may have missed is located in those folders. Thanks for looking.

1-1-2010 - Happy New Year. Thanks to all of the friends and family of zombieparadox that keep this site open. Without you there wouldn't be an us.
